Let’s Talk About Distractions…

Can I be honest for a moment?
Lately, I’ve realized just how easy it is to get swept up in things that don’t actually matter — conversations that lead nowhere, comparisons on social media, worrying about things far outside of our control, or pouring our time into habits that bring no real growth or peace.

And if you’re anything like me, you don’t even notice it happening until you suddenly feel spiritually drained, creatively blocked, or emotionally overwhelmed.

But here’s the truth God keeps reminding me:
Not everything deserves your attention.
Your time, your peace, your energy — they are sacred. The wrong distractions can quietly pull you away from the purpose God has called you to walk in.

Discernment in the Age of Noise

The world is loud.
Notifications, opinions, trends, pressure to perform, pressure to produce — it can feel endless. But discernment allows us to pause and ask:

• Is this helping me grow?

• Is this aligned with what God is speaking over my life?

• Is this worth my emotional energy?

• Does this honor the calling God has placed in my hands?

When we don’t ask these questions, distractions slip in and disguise themselves as urgency, opportunity, or obligation. But when we lean into the Holy Spirit, He gently guides us back to what truly matters.

What Truly Deserves Your Energy

There are far more important things worth investing in:

✨ Your relationship with God
✨ Your purpose
✨ Your peace
✨ Your family
✨ Your growth
✨ Your creativity
✨ Your calling to make an impact

These things build you. They strengthen you. They give back. 

A Personal Note 

As my mother and I continue building Called To Create together, we are learning this lesson in real time. Every day, we make intentional choices about where we place our energy. Not everything needs our reaction. Not every distraction deserves space in our hearts.

Instead, we choose to pour into this brand — this mission — that God placed on both of our hearts. We choose to pour into you.

And we pray that everything we create brings you closer to God and helps you reconnect with your own purpose.

Turn down the noise.
Refocus your heart.
Let God reorder your attention.
